World Book Day at ONE International School
World Book Day at ONE International School
As we do every year, the whole school enjoyed World Book Day 2020. It was a non-uniform day so all the kids came dressed up as their favorite book character – well done to everyone and thanks to parent’s for their creativity. Pupils also brought a book to swap with their friends to expand their reading repertoire.
The day started off with the teachers reading the inspiring story ‘What To Do with An Idea’ to the whole school before it was time to announce the winner of the video competition. The different classes had all made videos as a World Book Day project.
And here are the top three: (press the links to watch the videos)
Third place – Turtle Tots 3-4 years old
Second place – Beta Class middle school
And the winner is……. Congratulations to the STARGAZER class who made a story from the famous book “Going on a Bear Hunt”.
Well done to all our students and teachers for your hard work.
After watching the videos it was time for the book swap between the kids. The kids were very excited and curious and wanted to see what books their friends brought in to school. Everyone happily shared and took a new book home to read and enjoy together with their family.
The day continued with a race between the different classes where the kids had to run up to their teachers and answer an age-appropriate question about books or book characters. It was great to see the students and teachers having so much fun together. A day filled with happiness and laughter!
“A child who reads will be an adult who thinks” – Keep reading books!
Happy World Book Day from ONE!
