Happy Lunar New Year!
On Friday, January 24th, we at ONE International School invited all the parents and families in our community to our annual Chinese New Year Celebration. The kids were all divided into the 12 different animals from the Chinese Zodiac calendar with rats, oxen, tigers, rabbits, dragons, snakes, horses, goats, monkeys, roosters, dogs and pigs all present. As the Jade Emperor arrived and announced his birthday, the race began. The kids then re-enacted the Zodiac Race using the playground as their river and with the oxen (Middle School pupils) carrying the sneaky rat (Early Years pupils) to the finish line. The kids had done an awesome job making decorations for the playground and decorating their animal masks, they did fabulous impersonations of the animals they represented too! The different classes had worked hard making various sculptures to represent the animals in the Chinese Zodiac Calendar. Check out the photos to see what a great job they all did….
Thanks to the parents for coming and celebrating with us, and a big thank you to all the teachers and students for presenting their work in such a fun and delightful way 😀
