Chinese New Year and World Book Day with EYFS!
Exploring aspects of Chinese culture was the order of the day following half term for EYFS. Children learned about Chinese New Year by exploring food, stories, and songs related to the festival, they made links with celebrations in their own homes and we found out lots about how different children celebrate!
‘Under the Sea’ is the child-chosen topic we moved onto next and it is giving children the opportunity to explore: concepts such as floating and sinking, textures, sounds, fine and gross motor skills, technology, language and numbers through a range of child and adult-led activities!
World Book Day saw all the children arriving at school in costumes of their favourite characters, each of them sharing information about their character or book with their friends at Circle Time and then swapping books to see if they could find a new favourite! Awesome job guys!
